The purpose of this website is to give you an easy access to some of the digital books I have been putting together over the past few years. Most of these PDFs are essentially reference books which can be divided into four different sections:
Travel | Art | History | general
This Website is very much a Work In Progress as some of these books require regular updates. I am also working on new additions to be made to some sections, in particular Art and General. Make sure to keep revisiting the JFB Library.
Jean-François Buisseret
travel
More than a dozen travel guides describing some of the most interesting places which Bea and I had the opportunity to visit including Italy (Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples, Sicily), Portugal, Spain, Russia, Japan, Mexico and more.
art
A tribute to Roger Bevan from Exhibition Circle Abroad without whom this section would not have seen the light. In “Top Ten”, each of the 45 selected themes contains a list of objects which are, in Roger’s opinion, the 10 best works of art in their respective themes or categories accompanied by popular music or cinema recommendations related to the same themes.
“Seven Pillars of Art” represents a personal attempt to divide the world of Art into seven periods, starting with Proto-Renaissance and ending up with Post-Modern Art.
The “Museum Pieces” series contain some of the most excellent works of Art presented in “Seven Pillars of Art”. Artworks are listed under the Museum where they are exhibited. The series covers in excess of twenty Museums located in four different countries.
“Salon des Retrouvés” is a catalogue of some of the most excellent works of Art which, for some inexcusable reason, do not feature in “Seven Pillars of Art”.
History
This section contains books describing some aspects of the history of the major European countries including the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
General
In this section you will find books of a more personal character including “L’Arbre du Vijverhof de Korbeek-lo” which tells the story of the recent generations of my extended family.
